Urethane Resin Descriptions
Shore A Flexible
Quickly mimic rubbers, silicones, and thermo-plastic elastomers using a rigid master pattern, silicone RTV mold, and one of several available 2-part Shore A urethanes. Stock durometers range from 15A to 85A, with specifics available by special request. Cast-in color, custom texture, and over molding are all available using this process. Applications include custom gaskets, over molds, strain reliefs, grips, bumpers, and keypads.
Shore D Rigid
Turn a single rapid prototype into multiples, with better mechanical and cosmetic qualities. Materials range from polystyrene-like to polycarbonate-like, in a wide variety of part sizes. Cast-in color, custom molded-in texture (including polishing) are available, as are secondary painting and decorating, including pad printing and rub-down transfer graphics. Threaded fasteners are also available, a variety of options from pressed-in brass inserts to threaded Helicoils.
Applications include housings, enclosures, bezels, and hand-held instruments, for use in both prototype and production applications.
Shore D Rigid Clear
Use RTV technology to transform your single rapid prototype into acrylic or polycarbonate-like products. Your parts will really shine when working light pipes come to life. Multiple tinting and color options are available, from true water clear all the way to dark smoke tint and red IR lenses, with multiple options in between. Multiple finish level options are available, including full polishing. Applications include lenses, windows, light pipes, and clear enclosures.
Fire Retardant
Taking RTV molding to the next level, for more production applications we can offer UL rated materials, including yellow-carded 94V0 materials for flammability. Some limitations exist for part size and color options, so be sure to discuss your particular application with your Estimator. Applications for FR urethanes include production programs for custom enclosures, server bezels, and other applications where FR material is a requirement.
